Content Guidelines

BopMe is a brand operated by Beekman One LLC, 4001 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60613. These Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. BopMe is for funny, good-natured songs — roasts welcome, hate is not. Keep it playful.

Not allowed

• Hate speech or targeting people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
• Harassment, threats, bullying, or defamation of a real person.
• Sexual or explicit content — nothing that sexualizes anyone, and never a minor. Songs about kids are welcome: a birthday song for your own child is one of the most common things people make here.
• Real celebrities or public figures by name, and voice impersonation or cloning of real artists.
• Infringing content — copyrighted lyrics, trademarks, or brand names you don’t have the right to use.
• Illegal content or anything that violates someone’s rights.

Photos

If you make a photo video, the same rules apply to the pictures you upload. Only upload photos you have the right to share. Photos of your own family, including your kids, are exactly what this is for. Don’t upload pictures of people who wouldn’t want to be in it, photos you found online or took of strangers, or anything sexual or graphically violent.

Every photo is screened automatically before it can be used, and explicit sexual content and graphic gore are rejected. Screening is a backstop, not a substitute for the rule above: you’re still responsible for what you upload. A photo of a child is not rejected for being a photo of a child. Your photo files are kept privately and deleted 90 days after the last video you make with them. The video itself is the gift, so it plays on your recipient’s page and they can save and share it.

Consent

Only make a song about someone who’d be okay with it — a friend, family member, or teammate. Don’t target strangers or use BopMe to attack people. For roasts, you confirm you have permission. If you write about a child or upload their photo, you are their parent or guardian, or you have permission from someone who is. You are solely responsible for what you create and how you share it (see the Terms).

How we enforce

• We filter inputs as you create — if something crosses the line, we’ll nudge you to keep it playful (we redirect, we don’t lecture).
• We can take down any live song and revoke share links.
• Abuse can mean losing your money-back guarantee and being banned.

We screen because we want BopMe to stay fun and safe, not because we’ve agreed to. We have no obligation to pre-screen, monitor, or review content, screening won’t catch everything, and doing it doesn’t create a duty to keep doing it. We may act, or not act, at our discretion. You remain responsible for what you create and share.

Reporting & takedown

If a song is about you without your okay, or breaks these rules, use “Report this song” on the song’s page, or contact support@bopme.co. Copyright owners can send a formal takedown notice to our designated agent — see Takedown, DMCA & removal in the Terms. We review reports and remove content that violates these Guidelines.

We may remove content at our discretion to keep BopMe fun and safe.
